Overview
In this hour-long, CME-eligible course for pediatricians, Cortica’s co-founder and chief medical officer, Dr. Suzanne Goh, MD, BCBA will provide a comprehensive understanding of autism diagnosis and management across medical, developmental, and behavioral domains, illustrated with case studies. She will also explore the latest research findings in autism, including co-occurring medical conditions, advances in pharmacological management, new developmental-behavioral best practices, and social skills strategies.
By the end of this course, pediatricians will be able to:
Define autism’s diagnostic criteria
Explain the reasons for the rise in autism prevalence
Recognize important considerations in the differential diagnosis of autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions
Outline conditions that commonly co-occur with autism
Understand pharmacological and nutritional intervention approaches for patients with autism
Summarize the role that developmental therapies play in autism care
Identify neurodiversity-affirming behavior therapy approaches for autism
After attending the full course and completing its subsequent evaluation form, participants will receive 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit™ and a certificate of completion.
